DIY Hair Growth and Strengthening Oil

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons of black seed oil (Nigella sativa oil)
  • 1 tablespoon of castor oil

Black seed oil is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and is rich in antioxidants, which may help protect hair follicles. Castor oil is traditionally used to promote hair growth due to its high content of ricinoleic acid, a fatty acid that helps nourish the scalp and strengthen the hair.

Instructions:

  1. Mix the oils: In a small bowl or bottle, mix 2 tablespoons of black seed oil and 1 tablespoon of castor oil until well combined.
  2. Warm the oil (optional): You can warm the mixture slightly by placing the container in a bowl of hot water for a few minutes. This will help the oils penetrate the scalp more effectively.
  3. Apply to scalp: Using your fingers, gently massage the oil mixture into your scalp for 5-10 minutes. Make sure to cover all areas, focusing on the roots.
  4. Leave it in: Allow the oils to sit on your scalp for at least 30 minutes. You can also leave it on overnight for deeper conditioning. If you choose to leave it overnight, cover your hair with a shower cap.
  5. Wash it out: Rinse your hair thoroughly and wash with a mild shampoo to remove any excess oil.
  6. Repeat: For best results, repeat this treatment 1-2 times per week.

Tips:

  • If you are concerned about any possible allergic reactions, patch-test the oils on a small area of your skin before full application.
  • Results may vary depending on individual hair types and conditions, so consistency and patience are key.
