Detox Diuretic Salad Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium cucumber (sliced thin) – helps flush out toxins and excess water
  • 1/2 cup parsley (chopped) – natural diuretic that reduces water retention
  • 1/2 grapefruit or lemon (juice) – high in vitamin C, aiding detoxification
  • 1/2 avocado (sliced) – rich in potassium, helps balance sodium and water levels
  • 1 medium beetroot (grated) – supports kidney function and fluid elimination
  • 1 medium apple (thinly sliced) – adds fiber and aids digestion
  • 1/4 cup fennel (thinly sliced) – promotes digestion and acts as a diuretic
  • 1 tablespoon Nigella seeds (optional) – adds an anti-inflammatory boost
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil – healthy fat, helps absorption of nutrients
  • Sea salt and pepper to taste (go light on salt, as too much can lead to water retention)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the cucumber, parsley, beetroot, apple, and fennel.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the grapefruit or lemon juice and olive oil.
  3. Pour the dressing over the salad, and toss until all ingredients are well coated.
  4. Add avocado slices on top, sprinkle with Nigella seeds if using, and season with sea salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve immediately for the freshest flavors.

Tips:

  • Drink plenty of water throughout the day to help with the flushing process.
  • This salad can be eaten as part of a light meal or alongside a lean protein source like grilled chicken or fish.

Enjoy this salad as a natural way to support your body in eliminating excess water and reducing swelling!
