The Best Chinese Bok Choy Recipe (Ready in 5 Minutes)

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium heads of Bok Choy
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: Toasted sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Rinse the Bok Choy thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt. Pat dry and trim off the base. For larger leaves, cut them in halves or quarters for even cooking.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, or until it becomes fragrant.
  3. Add the Bok Choy to the skillet, tossing it with the garlic and oil. Cook for around 2 minutes, just until the leaves start to wilt.
  4. Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the Bok Choy. Season with salt and pepper to your taste, and stir to combine.
  5. Continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the Bok Choy stalks are tender but still slightly crisp.
  6. Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish.
  7. Optional: Garnish with toasted sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch.

Enjoy this quick and delicious side dish!
