Oregano and Lemon Tea Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup water
- 1-2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves (or a small handful of fresh oregano)
- Juice of half a lemon (about 1-2 tablespoons)
- 1-2 teaspoons honey (optional, for sweetness)
- A pinch of ground turmeric or black seed (optional, for extra health benefits)
Instructions:
- Boil Water: Bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil.
- Add Oregano: Place the oregano leaves in a tea infuser or directly in the water. If using dried oregano, 1-2 teaspoons is usually enough; for fresh oregano, use a small handful.
- Steep: Let the oregano steep in hot water for 5-10 minutes. This allows the essential oils to infuse, which contributes to the tea’s respiratory benefits.
- Strain and Add Lemon: Remove the oregano (if not using an infuser, strain the tea). Add the juice of half a lemon.
- Sweeten and Add Extras (optional): Stir in honey to taste, and add a pinch of turmeric or black seed if desired.
How to Enjoy:
- Best Time: Drink this tea in the morning to start the day or in the evening as a warm, relaxing drink. You can have it up to twice a day.
- Benefits: Oregano contains carvacrol and thymol, both of which support lung health, while lemon provides vitamin C, supporting the immune system.
