Ashton & Sherrock clinch titles on opening day of 2025 PDC Women’s Series

Lisa Ashton and Fallon Sherrock each secured a victory on the first day of the 2025 PDC Women’s Series in Leicester, showcasing their dominance in the sport.

The Mattioli Arena hosted 100 players for the season’s inaugural double-header. In Event One, four-time Lakeside Champion Lisa Ashton triumphed, defeating Gemma Hayter 5-2 in the final. Ashton’s path to victory included strong performances against various opponents, culminating in a 92 average in the final.

Gemma Hayter, a two-time 2024 Women’s Series winner, reached the final after defeating notable players like Noa-Lynn van Leuven and Lorraine Winstanley. Winstanley herself had previously eliminated Sherrock and Beau Greaves.

With her Event One win, Ashton tied Sherrock’s record of 18 PDC Women’s Series titles. However, Sherrock quickly reclaimed the lead by winning Event Two. She overcame a tough field, including a decisive victory over Ashton in the semi-finals, and then defeated Beau Greaves 5-3 in a rematch of last year’s Women’s World Matchplay final. Greaves, despite a strong run to the final, couldn’t overcome Sherrock this time.

The results place Ashton at the top of the early Order of Merit, with Sherrock close behind. The top eight players will qualify for the 2025 Betfred Women’s World Matchplay, and the top two will earn spots in the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship, along with the Women’s World Matchplay winner.

The weekend continues with Events 3-4 on Sunday, with live coverage beginning around 1000 GMT.
