2 Home Remedies to Get Rid of Cockroaches in Your House Using Baking Soda and Onion

Cockroach Repellent Recipe: Baking Soda and Onion

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion
  • 1 cup baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, to attract cockroaches)
  • 1 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Onion:
    • Peel and chop the onion into small pieces.
  2. Make the Onion Mixture:
    • In a blender or food processor, blend the chopped onion with 1 cup of water until you get a smooth mixture.
  3. Strain the Mixture:
    • Strain the onion mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to separate the liquid from the onion pulp. Discard the pulp and keep the liquid.
  4. Prepare the Baking Soda Mix:
    • In a bowl, mix 1 cup of baking soda with 1 tablespoon of sugar (if using). The sugar helps to attract the cockroaches.
  5. Combine the Ingredients:
    • Add the onion liquid to the baking soda mixture. Stir until it forms a paste-like consistency.
  6. Apply the Paste:
    • Place small amounts of the paste in areas where you’ve seen cockroaches or where they are likely to hide (e.g., behind appliances, under the sink, or in dark corners).
  7. Leave and Wait:
    • Leave the paste in place for a few days. The baking soda will react with the cockroach’s digestive system and help eliminate them.
  8. Clean Up:
    • After a few days, clean up the paste and check for any dead cockroaches. Repeat the process if necessary.

Tips:

  • Be consistent with the application to effectively reduce cockroach populations.
  • Ensure that pets and children do not come into contact with the paste.
  • Maintain cleanliness in your home to prevent future infestations.

This natural remedy leverages the power of baking soda and onion to help control cockroach problems in your home.
