How to Soak Almonds

Soaking almonds helps to reduce phytic acid, making nutrients more readily available for your body to absorb. It also softens the skin and improves digestibility.

Ingredients:

  • Almonds
  • Water
  • Optional: A pinch of salt

Instructions:

  1. Choose your almonds: You can use raw, unsalted almonds for the best results.
  2. Rinse: Give the almonds a quick rinse under cold water to remove any debris.
  3. Soak: Place the almonds in a bowl and cover them with enough water to submerge them completely. For optimal results, add a pinch of salt.
  4. Time: Let the almonds soak for 8-12 hours.
  5. Drain and rinse: Drain the almonds in a colander and rinse them thoroughly with cold water.

Optional: You can remove the almond skins after soaking by rubbing them between your hands or using a sieve.

Now, your almonds are ready to be used in various recipes or enjoyed as a snack!
