Herbal Tea for Lung Health and Asthma Relief

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon of dried thyme (or 1 tablespoon of fresh thyme)
  • 1 teaspoon of grated fresh ginger (or 1/2 teaspoon of dried ginger powder)
  • 1 teaspoon of dried peppermint leaves (or 1 tablespoon of fresh peppermint leaves)
  • 1 teaspoon of eucalyptus leaves (optional, as eucalyptus can be very strong)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder (or 1 teaspoon of freshly grated turmeric)
  • 1 teaspoon of dried mullein leaves (or 1 tablespoon of fresh mullein leaves)
  • 2 cups of water
  • Honey or lemon (optional, for taste)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the water: Start by bringing 2 cups of water to a boil in a small pot.
  2. Prepare the herbs: While the water is heating, prepare your herbs. If you are using fresh herbs, wash them thoroughly and chop them if necessary.
  3. Add the herbs to the boiling water: Once the water is boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer and add thyme, ginger, peppermint, eucalyptus (if using), turmeric, and mullein to the pot.
  4. Simmer the tea: Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes. This will allow the herbs to release their beneficial properties into the water.
  5. Strain the tea: After simmering, strain the tea into a cup using a fine mesh strainer to remove the herbs.
  6. Add honey or lemon: If desired, you can add honey or lemon to enhance the flavor and add additional soothing properties.
  7. Enjoy: Sip the tea slowly while it’s warm. You can drink this tea 1-2 times daily to help support lung health and alleviate asthma symptoms.
