Natural Insect Repellent Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of lemon juice
  • 10 drops of eucalyptus essential oil
  • 10 drops of peppermint essential oil
  • 1 tablespoon of baking soda
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • Spray bottle

Instructions:

  1. Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the white vinegar and lemon juice. Stir well.
  2. Add Essential Oils: Add the eucalyptus and peppermint essential oils to the mixture. These oils have strong scents that are known to repel insects like flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches.
  3. Incorporate Baking Soda: Slowly add the baking soda to the mixture. Be careful, as it might fizz when it reacts with the vinegar. Stir until the baking soda is fully dissolved.
  4. Dilute with Water: Add the water to the mixture to dilute it slightly, making it easier to spray.
  5. Transfer to Spray Bottle: Pour the mixture into a spray bottle. Make sure to shake well before each use.
  6. Apply in Your Home: Spray the mixture generously around your home, focusing on areas where you often see insects, such as doorways, windowsills, kitchen counters, and garbage areas.
  7. Let it Sit: Allow the solution to sit for about an hour. The strong scent will help repel flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches.
  8. Reapply as Needed: For best results, reapply the solution every few days or after cleaning surfaces.

This natural solution is effective and safe to use around the house.
