Homemade Cough-Relief & Lung-Cleansing Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 1 large onion (known for its anti-inflammatory and expectorant properties)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (antibacterial and antiviral)
  • 1-inch piece of fresh ginger (anti-inflammatory and helps clear airways)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey (soothes the throat and cough)
  • 1 lemon (rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants)
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric (anti-inflammatory and boosts the immune system)
  • 1 teaspoon of black pepper (helps absorb turmeric and clears sinuses)
  • 1 cup of water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients:
    • Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic.
    • Grate the ginger.
    • Slice the lemon in half and set aside.
  2. Boil the Mixture:
    • In a small saucepan, add the chopped onion, garlic, grated ginger, and water.
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
    • Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. Strain and Mix:
    • Strain the mixture into a clean bowl or jar, removing the solids.
    • Add the juice from the lemon, honey, turmeric, and black pepper.
    • Stir the mixture until everything is well combined.
  4. Store the Syrup:
    • Pour the syrup into a clean, airtight jar or bottle.
    • Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

Dosage:

  • For cough relief: Take 1 tablespoon of the syrup every 2-3 hours throughout the day.
  • For lung cleansing: Take 1 tablespoon of the syrup 3 times a day for 3 days.
