Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup baby oil (choose an unscented version for best results)
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves or 1 teaspoon clove oil
Instructions:
- Prepare the Cloves:
- If you’re using whole cloves, lightly crush them using a mortar and pestle or the back of a spoon. This helps release the natural oils.
- Mix the Ingredients:
- In a small bowl or container, combine the baby oil with the crushed cloves (or clove oil if using).
- Infuse the Oil:
- Allow the mixture to sit for at least 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This will let the cloves infuse their warming and soothing properties into the baby oil.
- Strain (optional):
- If you used whole cloves, strain the mixture through a fine sieve or cheesecloth to remove the clove pieces. If you used clove oil, no need to strain.
- Use the Oil:
- After 10 minutes, your soothing oil is ready to use! Apply a small amount to the skin, massaging gently. Be careful not to use on broken or irritated skin.
Benefits:
- Baby oil is great for moisturizing and protecting the skin.
- Cloves have natural anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) properties, making this blend potentially soothing for sore muscles or minor aches.
Important Note:
Clove oil can be strong, so always test on a small patch of skin before applying to larger areas, and avoid sensitive areas like the face. If you experience any irritation, discontinue use.
