Ingredients:
- 1 bunch of fresh parsley (supports kidney function and detoxification)
- 1 beetroot, peeled and chopped (liver cleansing and blood purifier)
- 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced (natural antibacterial and immune booster)
- 1 onion, chopped (supports lung health and is a natural detoxifier)
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger, grated (anti-inflammatory and aids digestion)
- 2 carrots, chopped (supports liver detoxification)
- 1/2 head of cabbage, chopped (rich in antioxidants, helps detox the liver)
- 1 cup kale or spinach (loaded with chlorophyll to support lung and liver health)
- 1 lemon, juiced (alkalizes the body and aids in liver detox)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder (anti-inflammatory and supports liver health)
- 6 cups vegetable broth or filtered water
- Sea salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil (optional, for sautéing)
- Fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary (optional) (antibacterial and lung-supporting)
Instructions:
- Prep the vegetables: Wash all your vegetables thoroughly to remove dirt and bacteria.
- Sauté the garlic and onions: Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the garlic and onion, sautéing until fragrant (about 3-4 minutes). This releases their antibacterial properties.
- Add the ginger, turmeric, and beets: Stir in the grated ginger, turmeric, and chopped beetroot. Cook for another 2 minutes, allowing the spices to infuse.
- Add the broth and remaining vegetables: Pour in the vegetable broth (or water) and add the carrots, cabbage, parsley, kale (or spinach), and any other vegetables. Stir well.
- Simmer: Bring the soup to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 25-30 minutes, until all the vegetables are tender.
- Season and finish: Add the lemon juice, and season the soup with sea salt, pepper, and any herbs you prefer. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.
- Serve: Enjoy the soup hot. It’s best to sip it slowly, allowing your body to absorb all the nutrients. You can have this detox soup as a light meal or alongside a salad.
