Ingredients:

  • Avocado seeds (from 2-3 avocados)

Method:

  1. Clean and Dry: Wash the avocado seeds thoroughly to remove any remaining flesh. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Dehydration Station: Here are two drying methods:
    • Sun Drying: Slice the seeds thinly (around ¼ inch) and spread them on a plate in a sunny spot. Flip them occasionally for even drying, which can take 3-5 days depending on your climate.
    • Oven Drying: Preheat your oven to the lowest setting (around 150°F or 65°C). Slice the seeds and arrange them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 2-3 hours, checking and flipping them occasionally, until completely dry and brittle.
  3. Grind It Up: Once your seeds are completely dry, it’s grinding time! Use a blender, food processor, or even a mortar and pestle to grind the seeds into a fine powder. Aim for a consistency similar to cocoa powder.
  4. Storage Savvy: Store your avocado seed powder in an airtight container in a cool, dark place like your refrigerator. It will stay fresh for up to 2 weeks.
