Craving a warm, buttery, and garlic-flavored flatbread to go with your meals? This easy garlic and butter flatbread recipe is a perfect addition to soups, salads, or as a simple snack. With minimal ingredients and quick preparation, you’ll have a soft, flavorful flatbread ready in no time.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley (chopped, optional)

Method:

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, and baking powder. Mix the dry ingredients until well combined.
  2. Add the olive oil to the dry mixture, then slowly pour in the warm water. Stir until a dough starts to form.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Cover the dough with a kitchen towel and let it rest for about 10 minutes.

Step 2: Make the Garlic Butter

  1. While the dough is resting, prepare the garlic butter by melting the butter in a small pan over low heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and cook for about 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently to avoid burning the garlic.
  3. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 3: Roll and Cook the Flatbread

  1. Divide the dough into 4-6 equal-sized portions. Roll each portion into a ball and flatten it with a rolling pin into a round flatbread, about ¼-inch thick.
  2. Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Once hot, place one flatbread on the skillet and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown with light charred spots.
  3. Repeat the process for the remaining flatbreads.

Step 4: Brush with Garlic Butter

  1. After cooking each flatbread, immediately brush both sides with the garlic butter mixture.
  2. Sprinkle fresh parsley on top for extra flavor and garnish.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Serve these flatbreads warm with a dip like hummus, tzatziki, or alongside your favorite soup.
  • They also make great bases for wraps or pizzas!

Tips:

  • If you love a stronger garlic flavor, add more minced garlic to the butter mixture.
  • You can make the dough in advance and store it in the fridge for up to a day.

This garlic and butter flatbread is simple yet full of flavor, making it the perfect companion for any meal. Enjoy!
