Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup fresh ginger (peeled and sliced or grated)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2–3 lemons)
- 2 cups water
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or sweetener of choice (optional, adjust to taste)
Instructions:
- Prepare Ginger Water:
- In a small pot, add the sliced or grated ginger and 1 cup of water.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it cool completely.
- Strain the ginger water to remove the ginger pieces.
- Mix in Lemon Juice:
- Once the ginger water has cooled, mix in the fresh lemon juice.
- If you’d like a sweeter taste, add 1-2 tablespoons of honey or any sweetener while the mixture is still warm so it dissolves easily.
- Combine with Water:
- Add 1 more cup of water to the mixture to dilute it slightly, adjusting the strength of the flavor to your preference.
- Pour into Ice Cube Tray:
- Pour the ginger lemon mixture into an ice cube tray.
- Freeze:
- Place the tray in the freezer and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until solid.
How to Use:
- For Cold Drinks: Add a couple of ginger lemon ice cubes to your iced water, iced tea, or sparkling water for a refreshing boost.
- For Hot Drinks: Place a cube or two into hot water or tea for an instant ginger-lemon infusion.
Enjoy your revitalizing ginger lemon ice cubes!
