Ginger Lemonade Recipe (Summer Special)

Ingredients:

  • 2-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and grated
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 3 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (or to taste)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
  • Lemon slices (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Make the Ginger Infusion:
    • Place the grated ginger in a small saucepan.
    • Add 1/2 cup of water and bring it to a simmer on medium heat.
    • Let it simmer for about 5 minutes to extract the ginger flavor.
    • Remove from heat and allow the ginger water to cool down for 5-10 minutes.
    • Strain the ginger infusion using a fine mesh strainer to remove the solids.
  2. Prepare the Lemonade Base:
    • In a pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice, honey (or maple syrup), and the strained ginger infusion.
    • Stir until the honey or syrup is fully dissolved.
  3. Add Water and Chill:
    • Add the remaining 3 1/2 cups of cold water to the pitcher.
    • Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more honey or lemon juice.
  4. Serve:
    • Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the ginger lemonade over them.
    • Garnish with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves for extra freshness.
  5. Enjoy:
    • Serve immediately and enjoy this invigorating, tangy, and slightly spicy ginger lemonade!

Tip: For an extra cooling effect, add a splash of sparkling water just before serving.

This drink is great for hot days and also provides a refreshing health boost!
