Homemade Plaque-Fighting Mouth Rinse

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of distilled water
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp coconut oil (optional for extra antibacterial effect)
  • 1-2 drops of mint essential oil (for flavor and freshness)
  • 1 tsp aloe vera gel (optional for its soothing and antibacterial properties)
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt (optional for mineral content)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Base:
    • Pour 1 cup of distilled water into a clean glass jar or bottle.
  2. Add Baking Soda & Vinegar:
    • Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda to the water. Baking soda helps neutralize acids in the mouth and gently scrub away plaque.
    • Stir in 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar, which works as a natural tartar remover.
  3. Incorporate Coconut Oil (Optional):
    • If you want to add an oil-pulling element to the rinse, add 1 teaspoon of coconut oil for its antibacterial properties.
  4. Aloe Vera and Essential Oil:
    • Mix in 1 teaspoon of aloe vera gel to help soothe gums and fight bacteria.
    • Add 1-2 drops of mint essential oil for a refreshing flavor and to further promote oral hygiene.
  5. Optional Salt Boost:
    • Add 1/2 teaspoon of sea salt for extra minerals that help maintain tooth enamel.
  6. Shake Well:
    • Close the jar or bottle and shake it well to combine all the ingredients.

Usage:

  • Swish 1-2 tablespoons of the rinse in your mouth for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, then spit out.
  • Use once or twice a day after brushing your teeth for best results.

This rinse combines the power of natural ingredients to help prevent plaque buildup, maintain fresh breath, and promote oral health without harsh chemicals.
