How to Make Ginger Juice

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup fresh ginger root (peeled and roughly chopped)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1–2 tablespoons honey or sweetener of choice (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ginger:
    • Peel the ginger root using a spoon or a vegetable peeler.
    • Roughly chop the ginger into small pieces.
  2. Blend the Ginger:
    • Add the chopped ginger and water to a blender.
    • Blend on high speed until the ginger is finely ground and well mixed with the water (about 2–3 minutes).
  3. Strain the Juice:
    • Pour the blended ginger mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth into a bowl.
    • Press down on the ginger pulp to extract as much juice as possible.
  4. Optional Add-ins:
    • Stir in honey or your preferred sweetener to taste. This helps balance the strong ginger flavor.
    • Add lemon juice for a touch of acidity and freshness.
    • For a bit of complexity, add a pinch of salt.
  5. Serve and Store:
    • Pour the ginger juice into a bottle or jar.
    • Chill it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving.
    • Ginger juice can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.

Serving Suggestions:

  • Drink it straight as a health tonic.
  • Mix with water, sparkling water, or tea for a refreshing beverage.
  • Add to smoothies, juices, or cocktails for an extra zing.

Enjoy your homemade ginger juice!
