Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon peppermint oil
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 cup water
- 1 spray bottle
- Cotton balls (optional)
Instructions:
- Prepare the Repellent: In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of peppermint oil, 1 tablespoon of cayenne pepper, and 1 tablespoon of garlic powder.
- Dilute with Water: Add 1 cup of water to the mixture and stir thoroughly.
- Transfer to Spray Bottle: Pour the solution into a spray bottle.
- Spray the Area: Spray the mixture in areas where you suspect mice or rats frequent, such as around windows, doors, baseboards, and cracks.
- Cotton Ball Method (Optional): Soak cotton balls in the remaining mixture and place them in hidden spots like cabinets, drawers, or behind appliances for added effect.
Why It Works:
- Peppermint oil is a natural rodent deterrent, as the strong smell irritates their sensitive noses.
- Cayenne pepper adds extra irritation, making the environment uncomfortable for them.
- Garlic amplifies the effect, creating a hostile atmosphere for mice and rats without using toxic chemicals or traps.
Repeat as Needed: Reapply the spray every few days or after cleaning to keep rodents away for good.
