Joint and Bone Pain Relief Oil

Ingredients:

  • 5-7 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 200 ml (2 decilitres) olive oil

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the ingredients:
    • Gently crush the bay leaves to release their essential oils. You can do this by lightly grinding them with a mortar and pestle or simply crumbling them by hand.
    • Ensure the rosemary is well-dried and free of any moisture.
  2. Infuse the oil:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the olive oil, crushed bay leaves, and rosemary.
    • Heat the mixture on low heat. You don’t want to boil the oil, but allow it to gently warm for about 10–15 minutes. This process helps to extract the beneficial properties from the bay leaves and rosemary.
  3. Cool and strain:
    • After the oil has infused, remove it from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
    • Strain the oil through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth to remove the herbs.
  4. Store the oil:
    • Transfer the infused oil into a clean, dry glass bottle or jar with a lid.
    • Store it in a cool, dark place, and it will last for up to a month.

Usage:

  • Warm the oil slightly before use.
  • Gently massage it onto the affected joints or bones in circular motions for 5-10 minutes.
  • For best results, apply the oil once or twice daily.

This infused oil combines the anti-inflammatory properties of bay leaves and rosemary with the moisturizing and soothing effects of olive oil, potentially providing relief from joint pain.
