Ingredients (Serves 16)
- 1 cup brown monk fruit sweetener (or your preferred sugar substitute)
- 1 teaspoon xanthan gum
- 2 cups warm water, divided
- 1 ½ tablespoons maple extract (or any flavor of your choice)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Prepare Xanthan Gum Mixture:
- In a small bowl, combine ½ cup of warm water with the xanthan gum.
- Whisk quickly and continuously until the mixture thickens and is well blended.
- Make the Syrup:
- In a saucepan over medium heat, add the remaining 1 ½ cups of warm water and the sweetener.
- Once the mixture is hot, whisk in the xanthan gum mixture until smooth and fully incorporated.
- Continue whisking until the syrup reaches your desired thickness.
- Add Flavors:
- Remove the syrup from heat and stir in the maple extract and vanilla extract.
- Allow the syrup to cool before serving or storing.
Notes
- Storage: Store the syrup in a mason jar or another airtight container. It will keep in the refrigerator for up to a month.
- Texture Tips: Avoid using granular erythritol-based sweeteners, as they can result in a gritty texture. For a thinner syrup, add more water as needed.
