Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon of salt (preferably sea salt or Himalayan pink salt)
- 1 cup of warm water
Instructions:
- Prepare the Salt Water:
- Begin by warming up 1 cup of water until it’s comfortably warm—not too hot, but warm enough to dissolve the salt.
- Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the water. Stir well until the salt is completely dissolved.
- Gargle with the Salt Water:
- Take a sip of the salt water mixture, tilt your head back, and gargle for about 15-30 seconds. Make sure the salt water reaches the back of your throat.
- Spit the water out after gargling.
- Repeat this process until you’ve used up the entire cup of salt water.
- Repeat as Needed:
- You can do this salt water gargle up to 3 times a day, especially in the morning and before bedtime, to help clear mucus and phlegm from the throat and airways.
How It Works:
- Salt has natural antibacterial and antiviral properties that can help reduce inflammation and clear mucus from the throat and lungs. The warm water soothes irritated tissues, while the salt helps to draw out excess mucus, making it easier to expel.
Precautions:
- Do not swallow the salt water, as it may cause dehydration.
- If you have high blood pressure or are on a low-sodium diet, consult your doctor before using this remedy regularly.
