This wholesome seed-studded bread is a perfect mix of hearty grains and nutritious seeds, baked right in a jar for a fun presentation! It’s packed with fiber and healthy fats, making it a great option for breakfast or as a snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 ¾ cups whole wheat flour
- ½ cup rolled oats
- 2 tbsp flaxseeds
- 2 tbsp sunflower seeds
- 2 tbsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp pumpkin seeds
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 ¼ cups warm water
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the inside of 3 or 4 wide-mouth glass jars (like mason jars) or line with parchment paper.
- Combine the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, oats, flaxseeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, salt, and baking soda.
- Mix the wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the warm water, honey or maple syrup, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar until well combined.
- Combine wet and dry ingredients: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until a dough forms. Do not overmix.
- Fill the jars: Spoon the dough evenly into the prepared jars, filling each about halfway to allow room for the bread to rise.
- Bake: Place the jars on a baking sheet and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool: Let the jars cool for 10 minutes before removing the bread. To remove, simply loosen the edges with a knife and slide the bread out of the jar.
- Serve: Slice and serve warm or at room temperature. This bread is perfect with a spread of butter, cream cheese, or your favorite nut butter.
Storage:
Keep the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
Enjoy the rustic, hearty texture and nutty flavor of this seed-studded jar bread!
