Sugar Lemon Body Scrub Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil (or any carrier oil like olive or almond oil)
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • Zest of 1 lemon (optional for extra fragrance)
  • 1 teaspoon honey (optional for added moisture)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Sugar Base:
    • In a medium-sized bowl, combine the granulated sugar and coconut oil. Stir until the mixture is well combined, resembling a damp sand texture. Adjust the oil amount if needed to get the desired consistency.
  2. Add the Lemon Elements:
    • Slowly add 1-2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice to the sugar mixture. The lemon juice adds a refreshing scent and helps to brighten the skin.
    • If using lemon zest, grate the zest of one lemon and add it to the mixture. This will enhance the citrusy fragrance and provide gentle exfoliation.
  3. Optional Add-Ins:
    • If desired, mix in a teaspoon of honey for its moisturizing properties. Honey also has antibacterial qualities that can be beneficial for the skin.
  4. Mix Everything Together:
    • Stir all the ingredients until everything is evenly distributed. The mixture should be slightly gritty but not too dry or too oily.
  5. Store and Use:
    • Transfer the sugar lemon scrub into a clean, airtight container. Store it in a cool, dry place, and use it within a month for the best results.
    • To use, apply the scrub to damp skin in circular motions, focusing on rough areas like elbows, knees, and feet. Rinse off with warm water, and pat your skin dry. Your skin should feel soft, smooth, and refreshed!

Tips:

  • Avoid using the scrub on broken or irritated skin.
  • Use the scrub 1-2 times a week for the best results.
  • You can experiment by adding other essential oils, like lavender or peppermint, for a customized scent.

Enjoy your homemade sugar lemon body scrub!
